The Severity Twin
7 events ended with first aid or less but could have been serious or fatal. Counting injuries alone hides them. They get the same investigation as a serious injury.

200,000 is 100 full-time people working 40 hours a week for 50 weeks, so each rate reads as cases per 100 workers per year. TRIR counts every recordable case. DART counts cases with days away, a job transfer or a restriction. DAFW counts days-away cases only. The rates count cases from the last twelve months, the same period as the hours worked. The severity rate is an industry convention, not an OSHA definition, and companies define it differently.
